Position Title: Porter / Clubhouse Care
Department: Events / Operations
Reports To: Assistant General Manager; Member Activities & Events Director
Position Summary
The Porter / Clubhouse Care supports daily club operations by ensuring all spaces are clean, organized, and event ready. This role plays a key role in executing events and maintaining Oakwood Country Club’s high standards of presentation, service, and hospitality. Responsibilities include lifting heavy equipment, moving and arranging furniture, and assisting with event setups, breakdowns, and other operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Setup & Operations
- Assist with setup and breakdown of all club events, including tables, chairs, linens, and equipment
- Execute room flips efficiently based on event timelines and floorplans
- Support daily operational setup across dining, event, and recreational spaces
Facility Support & Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of indoor and outdoor club areas
- Monitor and restock event and operational supplies as needed
- Ensure all spaces meet club standards for safety and presentation
Event Support
- Assist events team during functions with real-time needs and adjustments
- Work closely with food & beverage, events, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution
- Provide general support during high-volume events and peak service times
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Positive attitude and willingness to support all departments
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to often lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment as needed
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull
- Ability to work extended hours during events and peak periods
- May be exposed to varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
- May be exposed to local wildlife such as turtles, squirrels, snakes, spiders and deer.
- Must be able to pass a drug test prior to beginning work at the club.
