POS Lead - Retail checkout systems

We're looking for a POS Technical Lead to take ownership of a major retail checkout modernisation programme in Birmingham (Oldbury). This is a 12-month contract focused on evolving POS platforms, improving automation and supporting next-generation checkout solutions across large retail environments.

You'll lead the technical direction across POS architecture, self-checkout, peripheral integration and automation, working closely with engineering, architecture, platform and business teams.

Key skills:

• NCR Voyix and Emerald POS


• Self-Checkout (SCO) and retail checkout technologies


• Store Controller and POS peripheral integration


• Selenium Grid and Cucumber BDD


• POS emulation, device virtualisation and hardware abstraction


• SonarQube and code quality


• AI-powered quality engineering and test automation


• JMeter or LoadRunner
