Position as Scientific software developer/Data Scientist/Data Engineer

Summary

Scientific software developer/Data Scientist/Data Engineer position focusing on AI and image analysis at Rigshospitalet, assisting with data processing, anonymization, and AI training architecture for medical imaging research.

Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, Rigshospitalet.

A fully funded 3-year position as data scientist is available at DEPICT, a center for AI and image analysis at the Departments of Radiology, Pathology and Nuclear Medicine within Centre of Diagnostic Investigations, Rigshospitalet.

The position will focus on assisting AI researchers with image analysis and data processing. Tasks include:

  • Getting familiar with the tool, libraries and applications in use at DEPICT
  • Supporting data handling, anonymization and curation.
  • Supporting segmentation-based tasks and tools.
  • Handling of our AI training architecture, queuing system including debugging and error mitigation.

We expect:

  • Good programming skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • OS administration experience (primarily Linux)
  • Strong collaboration skills

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including a supporting role within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Prior hands-on experience in the development of Deep Learning models is essential. A strong interest in medical imaging is highly valued. Terms of Employment

The position is full-time for a period of three years and is available from 1 October 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. Employment will be in accordance with the collective agreement within the Capital Region of Denmark.

About Diagnostic centre Rigshospitalet

The Centre of Diagnostic Investigation comprises a collection of highly specialized departments: Diagnostic radiology, clinical biochemistry, pathology, clinical immunology, clinical physiology/nuclear medicine, clinical microbiology, clinical genetics & center of genomic medicine.

The center has a staff of app. 1.550 and an annual turnover of 1.2 billion kroner. The center produces annually 10 mill. laboratory analyses and performs 650.000 image diagnostics based on 1 mill. contacts with patients and donors.

The core tasks are high-level research, strong educational environments, customized diagnostics and patient treatment. 36 professors and other researchers publish annually more than 700 scientific articles in international journals.
