Job Summary
As a member of the Product Team, the Product Manager & IT Support role is responsible for product management and advanced technical support across BGW Technologies’ national operations. The role manages assigned products and supplier relationships; supports branches, partners and internal teams through pre-sales and post-sales activities; and acts as a trusted technical adviser for proactive and reactive requirements. Key activities include product lifecycle management, demand forecasting, inventory planning, evaluation of new and existing products, solution design, technical escalation, and validation of product interoperability within complete electronic security and IT-based system solutions. The role may provide remote support or attend customer sites to resolve complex issues.
Job Responsibilities
o Be the primary liaison between suppliers and BGW Technologies employees for assigned product ranges.
o Provide advanced pre-sales and post-sales product and technical support to branches, partners, internal teams and customers, remotely and on site when required.
o Test and evaluate new products, including features, technical performance, reliability and market suitability.
o Validate interoperability and integration between products as part of complete electronic security and IT-based system solutions.
o Support the Sales Team with product selection, system architecture, solution design, demonstrations and technical responses.
o Monitor inventory demand, forecasting and maintain stock rotation plans to support availability and minimise ageing stock.
o Manage product lifecycles, including transitions from superseded products to replacement models and plans to sell existing stock.
o Maintain accurate product pricing, specifications and related data across the website and commercial quoting systems.
o Develop and deliver product training, technical briefings and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
o Diagnose complex product, networking, server, workstation issues; escalate unresolved matters to suppliers and coordinate follow-up through to resolution.
o Support marketing activities, trade shows, demonstrations and product promotions, including preparation, set-up and travel where required.
Product and Technical Scope:
o Electronic security and IT-based solutions, including Video Management Systems, IP surveillance cameras, network switches, wired and wireless networking, servers and workstations.
o Testing, evaluation, integration, solution design, product demonstrations, proactive support and reactive fault resolution across the assigned portfolio.
Accountabilities:
o Provide timely, accurate day-to-day product and technical support nationally.
o Maintain effective supplier relationships and ensure agreed actions and escalations are followed through.
o Maintain strong working knowledge of assigned supplier portfolios, product capabilities, technical requirements and market positioning.
o Keep BGW Technologies informed of supplier updates, product changes, technical developments and relevant commercial matters.
o Ensure sales and technical teams have current, accurate information to support customer engagement and sales activity.
o Support effective inventory outcomes through forecasting, lifecycle planning, stock rotation and transition management.
o Ensure product pricing, specifications and data remain accurate and current across BGW Technologies systems.
Position Pre-Requisites:
o Demonstrated IT and Security background, including wired and wireless networking.
o Proven capability in designing, building and configuring servers and workstations.
o Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
o Experience with product management, supplier coordination, forecasting or inventory planning is highly regarded.
o Experience with Video Management Systems (VMS).
o Australian citizen or permanent resident
