Post Fixtures Executive (Operations) - Gas & Tanker, Singapore

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Operations Executive / Senior Executive – Post Fixture to manage end-to-end post-fixture activities within the Gas and Tanker Division.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across the full scope of Post Fixture, with particular expertise in demurrage, laytime calculations, claims management and negotiation. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, meticulous with documentation and comfortable managing a significant volume of post-fixture matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full scope of post-fixture activities for Gas and Tanker vessels.
• Handle a significant volume of demurrage and claims billings from inception to settlement.
• Compile and review relevant cargo and voyage documentation required for claims preparation.
• Perform detailed laytime calculations based on Charter Party terms and supporting documentation.
• Review and interpret laytime and demurrage clauses and ensure claims are prepared accurately in accordance with contractual terms.
• Manage and negotiate demurrage and other post-fixture claims with charterers and relevant counterparties.
• Handle disputes and follow up closely with counterparties to achieve timely resolution and settlement.
• Review and manage claims relating to vessel deviation, cargo heating, speed-up and Panama Canal transit, where applicable.
• Perform and/or verify freight calculations and related commercial calculations.
• Maintain accurate voyage, claims and settlement records within IMOS.
• Work closely with Operations, Chartering, Finance and other internal stakeholders on voyage-related commercial matters.
• Monitor outstanding claims and ensure timely invoicing, follow-up and collection.
• Support other post-fixture and commercial operational matters as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business or a related discipline.
• Relevant hands-on experience in Post Fixture, Shipping Operations or Commercial Operations, preferably within the Gas and/or Tanker sector.
• Proven experience managing the full scope of Post Fixture activities.
• Strong hands-on experience preparing demurrage claims from scratch, including cargo document compilation and laytime calculations.
• In-depth knowledge of Charter Party laytime and demurrage clauses.
• Demonstrated ability to review, negotiate and resolve claims and disputes with charterers and counterparties.
• Experience handling a significant volume of commercial claims and post-fixture transactions.
• Exposure to deviation, cargo heating, speed-up and Panama Canal-related claims would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of freight calculations.
• Practical working experience with IMOS is preferred.
• Relevant experience gained within a shipowner, third-party ship management company or charterer environment would be highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple claims and deadlines in a fast-paced shipping environment.
