Post-Sales Network & Infrastructure Engineer

This is a hands-on technical role covering approximately:

70% Networking
30% Infrastructure / Systems

You will work closely with our Infrastructure Lead, project managers, vendors and customers to implement and support networking and infrastructure solutions.

This position is suitable for someone who already has practical network engineering experience and wants to develop further exposure to solution design, project implementation and pre-sales work.

Key Responsibilities

Post-Sales Network & Technical Support

  • Provide L2 for customer network and infrastructure environments.
  • Configure, deploy and troubleshoot: firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, VPNs, and network security solutions
  • Support customer environments involving Fortinet, Cisco, HPE and Ruckus technologies.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, VLAN, routing, firewall, VPN, Wi-Fi and performance issues.
  • Perform firmware upgrades, patching, configuration changes and preventive maintenance.
  • Support new installations, migrations and system upgrades.
  • Assist with troubleshooting incidents remotely and on-site where required.
  • Maintain proper technical documentation, network diagrams and configuration records.
  • Liaise with vendors or distributors for technical escalation and RMA cases.

Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with basic server and IT infrastructure deployments.
  • Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related infrastructure services where required.
  • Assist with server, storage, backup, UPS and other infrastructure equipment.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of end-user and enterprise IT equipment.
  • Assist with infrastructure migration and refresh projects.

Pre-Sales Support

The role is primarily post-sales, but you will also support our Infrastructure Lead with pre-sales work, including:

  • Understanding customer technical requirements.
  • Conducting basic site surveys and technical assessments.
  • Assisting with preparation of network diagrams and proposed solutions.
  • Obtaining technical specifications from vendors and distributors.
  • Assisting with proposal preparation and technical write-ups.
  • Supporting product comparison and solution selection.

You will not be expected to independently lead complex enterprise solution architecture from day one. Guidance will be provided by the Infrastructure Lead.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in networking, infrastructure or IT system integration.
  • Good practical knowledge of:TCP/IPVLANrouting and switching firewall policies VPN Wi-Fi networks, and network troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet / FortiGate environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment.
  • Exposure to HPE networking/infrastructure and/or Ruckus wireless solutions will be an advantage.
  • Comfortable performing both remote and onsite customer support.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems systematically and independently.
  • Able to communicate clearly with customers, vendors and internal project teams.
  • Willing to learn new networking and infrastructure technologies.
