The Kamphorst Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to lead projects focused on immune-cell interactions that regulate response to cancer immunotherapy.

The project will investigate how CD4 T cells, CD8 T cells, and antigen-presenting cells interact within the liver tumor microenvironment in response to PD-1 targeted therapy. The postdoctoral fellow will work with mouse models of cancer, including hepatocellular carcinoma. Candidates need to have a PhD in Immunology or related Biological Science. Experience with research in mice and strong background on flow cytometry, molecular biology and gene expression analysis is preferred. Responsibilities will include designing and performing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, reviewing literature relevant to the research objectives, and preparing research and fellowship proposals, reports, and manuscripts.

Technical Duties: (include any protocols)

  • Perform independent research in the area of T cell biology and tumor immunology.
  • Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people
  • Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants
  • Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology or related Biological Science required
  • Experience working in a research laboratory setting
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (cloning), advanced flow cytometry and tissue imaging, and in vivo work with mice is required.
  • Computational skills also desired.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.
