Title: Postdoctoral Scientist - Computational Biologist

Location: Remote

Role Summary:

Join Colgate-Palmolive’s Biosolutions team as a PostDoctoral Research Scientist where you will drive oral care research through advanced bioinformatic and statistical analysis. You will integrate and translate complex omics datasets - including metagenomic, metatranscriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic and immunological profiles - across oral care. This role offers the opportunity to uncover novel biological insights into host-microbe interactions, decipher modes of action, and identify key biological biomarkers. Your primary objective will be converting high-dimensional omics data into clear, actionable scientific strategies that inform the development of products to improve oral health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the bioinformatic processing, statistical analysis and integration of complex omics datasets using computational tools to identify biomarkers of health and disease, elucidate modes of action for novel actives, and propose biological targets for further validation.
  • Collaborate with wet lab scientists and clinicians to translate and interpret data.
  • Support projects through consultation on study design, sample collection, data analysis, visualization and interpretation.
  • Present technical findings, methodologies, and actionable insights to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Proficiency in command-line tools and scripting languages, specifically Python and/or R.
  • Proven track record in processing, analyzing, and interpreting high-throughput biological datasets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of next generation sequencing technologies, their applications, and bioinformatic tools for analysis.
  • Domain expertise in microbiome, oral biology.
  • Practical knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) methods for biological data modeling and target discovery.
  • Hands-on experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud computing resources (AWS, GCP).
  • Proven ability to work within a collaborative research team and effectively interact with a broad range of researchers from distinct disciplines.
