Techberry Infotech is hiring a PostgreSQL Database Administrator in Mumbai (3-6 years experience) to install, upgrade, and maintain production PostgreSQL databases — handling performance tuning, backup/recovery (PITR), replication, high availability, security, and automation via shell scripts, using tools like pgAdmin, PgBouncer, and Barman.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Perform SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Manage backup, recovery, Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), and replication.
- Configure and support high-availability and failover solutions.
- Develop Shell scripts for automation and database maintenance.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and security.
- Support database migrations, upgrades, and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
Required Skills
- 3-6 years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA experience.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture and SQL.
- Experience in query tuning, backup/recovery, and replication.
- Good Shell scripting and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as pgAdmin, pgBadger, Pgpool, PgBouncer, and Barman.
- Experience supporting production databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, or EDB.
- Knowledge of high availability, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- PostgreSQL or EDB certifications are an advantage.
Ideal Candidate
