Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, analytical reports, and business intelligence solutions. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, SQL, and Power BI Service. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and data engineering teams to convert business requirements into meaningful reports and actionable insights.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop.
- Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs to support business reporting requirements.
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and integration using Power Query and M language.
- Develop data models, relationships, and star-schema designs for efficient reporting.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and validate data from relational databases.
- Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Excel, Azure services, and cloud data platforms.
- Publish and manage reports, semantic models, and workspaces in Power BI Service.
- Configure scheduled refresh, gateways, Row-Level Security (RLS), and appropriate access permissions.
- Optimize report performance, DAX calculations, data models, and refresh processes.
- Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and reconciliation to ensure report accuracy.
- Gather reporting requirements from business users and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow BI development and deployment best practices.
Mandatory Skills:
- Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- DAX: Measures, calculated columns, filter context, and time intelligence.
- Power Query and M language.
- Data modeling, table relationships, star schema, and dimensional modeling.
- SQL: Joins, aggregations, subqueries, and query optimization.
- Dashboard design, visualization, and KPI reporting.
- Data refresh, gateways, workspace management, and Row-Level Security.
- Performance optimization and data validation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Azure data services, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Databricks.
- Experience connecting Power BI to Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse.
- Knowledge of incremental refresh, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and version control.
- Knowledge of business intelligence requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
