Summary
A Power BI Developer joins an established Ipswich-based business to replace manual and legacy reporting with Power BI: building dashboards, DAX measures, Power Query transformations and data models, managing datasets and governance, and shaping reporting standards as the company moves toward the Microsoft data platform.
Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong practical experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL and data modelling
- Comfort taking a reporting requirement, understanding the underlying business need and turning that into a clear, robust and reliable solution
- Legal right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future
- Designing, building and enhancing Power BI reports and dashboards
- Creating DAX measures, calculations and KPIs
- Using Power Query to prepare, cleanse and transform data
- Working with SQL and integrating data from multiple systems
- Designing, implementing and maintaining reporting data models
- Managing datasets, refresh schedules and Power BI workspaces
- Supporting report access, security and governance
- Replacing manual and legacy reporting with Power BI solutions
- Working with stakeholders to understand and refine reporting requirements

We are recruiting a Power BI Developer to join an established business that is changing the way it uses data and reporting. We already have plenty of reporting in place, but much of it is still manual and spread across legacy systems. This role will help move us into a more consistent and usable Power BI environment. The position is based in Ipswich, Monday to Friday. We work office-based during probation, then hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. You will work with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL and data modelling, helping shape datasets and improve how information is put together behind the scenes so it is easier to use, more reliable and better aligned to how teams work. You will spend time with teams across the business to understand what they are trying to measure, where existing reporting creates unnecessary work, and where things can be simplified or automated. There is scope to have a real influence on how reporting develops over time, including helping improve standards, governance and our wider move towards Microsofts data platform. This role would suit someone currently working as a Power BI Developer, BI Developer or technically strong BI Analyst who wants greater ownership and the opportunity to help shape how reporting is delivered across a business in a strong growth stage.
