Power Management Architect
Summary
Architects power management for an AI-focused SoC, defining power domains, DVFS, and thermal strategies to optimize performance and energy efficiency in silicon.
You own the power architecture of a Physical AI SoC, defining power domains, voltage and frequency scaling, power states, and power delivery. You establish power and energy budgets, architect power-control subsystems, embed power intent into design flows, and validate power and thermal management through silicon bring-up.
Responsibilities
- Own the SoC power architecture
- Define power domains, DVFS strategy, power states, and the power delivery network
- Define dynamic and static power management techniques
- Establish power and energy budgets across use cases
- Drive power, performance, and area trade-offs
- Architect the on-die power management and control subsystem
- Define firmware and software policies for power management
- Embed power intent into the design flow and validate it through silicon bring-up
- Define power and thermal management for sustained operation
- Establish power architecture standards, modeling methodology, and review practices
Requirements
- 8+ years in power management, mixed-signal, or SoC architecture
- Significant experience defining power architecture for shipping silicon or embedded platforms
- Deep expertise in multiple power domains, DVFS, clock and power gating, adaptive voltage scaling, retention, and power state management
- Strong understanding of power delivery networks, PMICs, voltage regulation, thermal constraints, and package constraints
- Hands-on experience with UPF/CPF and power modeling and analysis
- Experience defining and validating power management policies across silicon design, firmware, and platform software
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience optimizing power for AI/ML accelerators or NPUs
- Familiarity with robotics, automotive, mobile, or other power-constrained domains
- Experience with energy-aware software, thermal management, and silicon power characterization
