Support daily operations of global data centres through power quality monitoring, analysis, and optimization. The role involves on-site work with professional power quality analyzers, data processing using Python and MATLAB, disturbance-source identification, mitigation proposals, battery energy storage integration assessments, and compliance with international power quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement power quality monitoring plans for data centres and critical power systems to support Tier III/IV power availability targets.
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and long-term or temporary monitoring using professional power quality analyzers.
- Collect and analyze voltage, frequency, harmonics, three-phase imbalance, flicker, and voltage dip/swell data.
- Process power quality data using Python, MATLAB, or Excel, including percentile evaluation, exceedance calculations, waveform assessment, and trend reporting.
- Identify disturbance sources such as servers, UPS systems, and energy storage PCS inverters, and propose mitigation solutions.
- Participate in BESS integration assessments, pre-connection reviews, on-site testing, and verification of power quality and fault ride-through metrics.
- Track international power quality standards and technology trends, and participate in internal technical sharing and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in power quality analysis, data centre power systems, or energy storage projects.
- Proficiency with Fluke or equivalent power quality analyzers and on-site data acquisition.
- Familiarity with IEC 61000-4-30, IEEE 519, EN 50160, and related international standards.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel functions, statistical analysis, and programming.
- Experience with BESS integration, harmonic mitigation, or data centre power projects.
- Ability to read technical documents and participate in international conferences.
- Knowledge of data centre Tier standards and UPS or storage backup power integration.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Benefits
- Inclusive environment valuing diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
- Opportunity to network with industrial pioneers and enthusiasts.
- Ability to contribute directly to the digital asset industry's future.
- Involvement in new projects and process or system development.
- Personal accountability, autonomy, growth, and learning opportunities.
- Training, mentoring, welfare benefits, and developmental opportunities.
