Powersports Service Technician
NewBe an early applicantOur client is an established powersports dealership with a busy service department supporting a variety of off-road vehicles and powersports equipment.
This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced technician to join a structured service department with opportunities for continued training and development.
Position Overview
This Technician position will focus primarily on servicing and repairing four-wheelers, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes.
The ideal technician will have at least three years of powersports technician experience and be comfortable performing general maintenance, electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs. Experience with manufacturer service and diagnostic software is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on off-road powersports equipment
- Service four-wheelers, ATVs, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems
- Complete general repairs and maintenance
- Use manufacturer service and diagnostic software
- Clock on and off jobs using the Dealer Management System (DMS)
- Add notes to repair orders
- Upload photos and videos documenting repairs
- Perform test drives following repairs
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Meet individual productivity and efficiency goals
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of off-road powersports technician experience
- Hands-on experience with four-wheelers/ATVs and side-by-sides
- Electrical diagnostic experience
- Experience with powersports manufacturer service or diagnostic software
- Ability to perform general maintenance and repairs independently
- Own personal technician tools
Preferred Experience
- Can-Am or Polaris experience
- Yamaha, Honda, or Kawasaki experience
- Dirt bike experience
- Personal watercraft (PWC) experience
- On-road powersports experience
- Can-Am Ryker or Spyder experience
- General motorcycle experience
Additional Notes
- Specialty tools are provided as needed
- Units and parts are staged to help technicians stay productive
- Manufacturer training is available through online programs and manufacturer facilities
- Additional training opportunities are available as technicians progress
