Description

FPT Industrial, the global powertrain brand of Iveco Group and Tata Motors is dedicated to the development, production, sale, and support of innovative powertrain solutions for On-Road, Off-Road, Marine, and Power Generation applications. Serving businesses that power other businesses, we are committed to meeting the needs of both direct customers and end users worldwide. Our mission is to achieve and sustain technological leadership across all industrial powertrain segments through innovation, product excellence, and continuous improvement. Customer satisfaction remains our driving force, guiding our commitment to deliver best-in-class engines, drivelines, and after-treatment solutions globally—while fostering sustainable growth rooted in environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

The Finance Manager will report directly to the FPT Global CFO and will support the financial management and day-to-day finance activities of the North American business.

The position combines two complementary areas of responsibility: Business Controlling and Accounting & Financial Control. As Business Controller, the Finance Manager will support management through budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, management reporting, and financial decision support. From an Accounting and Financial Control perspective, the role will help ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company’s P&L and Balance Sheet and will directly support closing, reconciliations, accruals, inventory accounting, CAPEX, and intercompany activities.

This is a hands-on managerial role. The successful candidate must be comfortable both discussing financial performance with management and directly preparing analyses, reconciliations, accounting entries, and reports. The role will also support process improvement, internal controls, reporting enhancements, and the planned ERP/system migration as the business evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Business Controlling & Performance Management

  • Act as a finance partner to North American management and business functions, providing analysis and recommendations to support decisions and profitable growth.
  • Assist with annual budget, forecast, and business planning activities, including consolidation and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, including Flash, Causals and SG&A functional spending.
  • Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior years, identifying key drivers, risks, opportunities, and required follow-up actions.
  • Review and support the approval of customer pricing and commercial proposals, assessing profitability, margins, cost assumptions, and alignment with financial targets and company policies.
  • Develop financial models and ad hoc analyses to support business initiatives and management decision-making.
  • Support Sales and Engineering with purchase order preparation and help ensure compliance with company and Finance policies.
  • Provide clear financial insights and reporting to the Global CFO and Global Finance Team.

Accounting, Reporting & Financial Control

  • Perform and support month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review monthly accruals, intercompany recharges, and other accounting entries.
  • Support the integrity of the company’s P&L and Balance Sheet through detailed analysis, reconciliation, and follow-up.
  • Manage monthly inventory reconciliation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting, resolving discrepancies with relevant functions.
  • Manage CAPEX accounting, including project preparation, capitalization, monitoring, and related analysis.
  • Maintain finance process documentation and support the execution and continuous improvement of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), ensuring key financial controls are appropriately documented, performed, and supported by adequate evidence.
  • Coordinate relevant tax, treasury and compliance activities with internal functions and external specialists, as applicable.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and perform other finance-related duties as assigned.

Systems, Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Actively support the planned ERP/system migration, including finance process design, testing, data validation, reconciliation, implementation, and stabilization.
  • Help maintain appropriate financial controls and reconciliation processes throughout the system transition.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate finance and accounting processes.
  • Analyze reporting processes and system enhancements to improve data quality, efficiency, transparency, and decision support.
  • Help develop scalable finance processes capable of supporting the expected growth of the North American business.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with a solid foundation in both accounting and financial analysis and the ambition to take broader ownership of a company’s finance activities. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between detailed operational execution and business support, from preparing reconciliations and analyzing transactions to explaining financial performance and business drivers to management.

The role requires a business-partnering mindset, accounting discipline, analytical thinking, independence, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Previous exposure to an ERP implementation, migration, or significant finance-system change is plus. The candidate should be able to work effectively in an evolving environment, improve existing processes, and contribute to more scalable ways of working.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Approximately 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting, financial controlling, FP&A, reporting, or related finance activities.
  • Strong practical accounting knowledge, including month-end close, P&L and Balance Sheet analysis, accruals, reconciliations, inventory, intercompany transactions, and CAPEX.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Previous involvement in an ERP implementation, migration, or significant financial-system transformation strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP platform.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and good PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Experience working with multiple financial systems and data sources preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with high attention to detail.
