PQC Cryptography Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 67,500 per year

Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, PKI, and key management.
  • Solid awareness of quantum threat models, including Shors and Grovers algorithms.
  • Practical experience designing crypto-agile systems aligned with NIST, FIPS, or ISO 27001 standards.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Exposure to post-quantum cryptography algorithms such as CRYSTALS-Kyber and Dilithium is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with HSMs or tools such as Venafi and OpenSSL is desirable.
  • Background in financial services is desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • Build migration strategies by mapping business impacts and designing roadmaps to transition away from legacy algorithms.
  • Perform quantum risk assessments across internal systems and customer-facing channels.
  • Deliver hands-on proofs of concept demonstrating practical quantum-safe migrations.
  • Establish a framework to prioritise remediation and sequence fixes for critical assets.
  • Work across IT and business units to build and maintain an up-to-date cryptographic inventory.
