Practical Nurse (Family Medicine)
About the Position: This position is located at 88th Medical Group, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Gather comprehensive patient history from patients or family members to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reason for seeking health care.
Coordinate and facilitate patient care, communicate relevant updates in accordance with the medical plan of care and nursing assessment, and document actions accurately in the health record.
Provide individualized nursing care to patients of all ages based upon the physician’s medical care plan, the nursing assessment, and the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient.
Conduct routine procedures, including but not limited to: administering inhalation treatments, performing fingerstick glucose and urine dipstick testing, assessing visual acuity, phlebotomy, and applying dressing changes.
Screen and review immunization records to select required immunizations, correct dosages, and administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular immunizations to all age groups.
Perform teaching to patients and/or family regarding self-care procedures and documents teaching.
