Practice Manager - Public Infrastructure
The Practice Manager supports the Practice Leader and Senior Practice Leader in managing a defined discipline, with responsibility for project delivery, team coordination, and overall performance. The position provides technical guidance and mentorship to early and mid-career staff while helping ensure high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction. Additionally, the role contributes to business development efforts, builds and maintains client relationships, and demonstrates readiness for future practice leadership through increasing ownership of projects and portfolio growth.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates staffing, workload balancing, and production scheduling within the practice.
- Facilitates team meetings, communicates priorities, and ensures deadlines are met.
- Supports Practice Leadership in tracking performance metrics such as utilization, backlog health, and project profitability.
- Assists in onboarding and mentoring early-career staff and provides input on performance reviews.
- Ensures deliverables meet WGA quality standards, schedule expectations, and budget targets.
- Acts as day-to-day point of contact for select clients or project portfolios.
- Supports proposal development, scope planning, and fee estimation.
- Assists Practice Leadership in identifying opportunities for expanded services and client retention.
- Drives team engagement, collaboration, and accountability. Build strong, lasting client relationships, becoming their trusted advisor.
- Develop effective marketing skills to maintain positive client relations and attract new clients and services.
- Participates in conferences to promote practice growth, foster relationships, and enhance the firm’s visibility.
