Pre-Sales Engineer ( B2B )

Summary

Pre-Sales Engineer crafts technical proposals, cost estimates, and solution architectures for B2B software deals, focusing on ERP, AI/GenAI, and platform migrations while ensuring proposal accuracy and client alignment.

Devsinc is a global software engineering and AI consultancy — 2,000+ engineers, 400+ clients, 15+ years delivering staff augmentation, dedicated teams, and full outsourced builds across UAE, UK, EU, North America, and MENA. We're hiring a Pre-Sales Engineer to work directly with the Head of Pre-Sales B2B across the full deal lifecycle: RFP analysis, solution architecture, costed proposals, and deal qualification.

Requirements

What you'll actually do:

- RFP/RFI response ownership — parse client requirement documents, build traceability matrices mapping every numbered sub-requirement to a proposed phase, and flag scope gaps before drafting begins rather than after

- Costing and margin work — build module-level manday breakdowns tied to specific brief lines (not generic top-down estimates), calibrate against the correct regional rate card (MENA / NA-EU-UK), and validate margin floors before any price goes to a client

- Proposal authoring — draft Scope of Work, Solution Architecture, Assumptions & Constraints, and Risk Register sections for both SIMPLE (config/native-platform) and FULL (custom-build, multi-phase) format proposals

- Solution design — work with delivery leads to size teams for D365/ERP, AI/GenAI, and platform-migration engagements; identify sunset/integration risk in a client's existing system landscape

- Deal support — maintain pipeline accuracy in HubSpot, prep discovery-call talking points, and support the Head of Pre-Sales B2B in client-facing technical conversations

- Document QA — catch the stuff that costs deals: dead ToC links, missing Executive Summary/Acceptance Criteria sections, exposed internal rates in client-facing files, brand inconsistencies

You should have:

- 5+ years in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical sales at a software services/consultancy firm — agency-side experience strongly preferred over product-side

- Strong technical writing — you'll be authoring proposal sections independently, not just reviewing them

- Advanced Excel — comfortable building and auditing costing sheets, formula-literate, understands markup-on-cost vs. gross-margin math

- Working knowledge of at least one major delivery domain: ERP (D365/Oracle/SAP), cloud/AI platforms, or custom web/mobile builds

- Comfort with ambiguity — RFPs are often incomplete; you should default to a structured question list rather than guessing

- CRM experience (HubSpot or similar) for pipeline hygiene

Nice to have:

- Exposure to government/enterprise RFP formats (compliance matrices, formal evaluation criteria)

- Familiarity with regional compliance considerations (VAT/ZATCA, data residency) for KSA/UAE/Canada engagements
