The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is seeking a Pennsylvania Certified Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where every child can thrive. This position plays a key leadership role in delivering high-quality early childhood education while supporting classroom staff, partnering with families, and maintaining compliance with Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts, Keystone STARS, DHS, and YMCA standards.
What You'll Do
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons.
- Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that promotes school readiness.
- Lead and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff.
- Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families.
- Maintain accurate attendance, emergency, and child records.
- Ensure classroom compliance with DHS, Keystone STARS, ELRC, and YMCA standards.
- Monitor classroom ratios, health, safety, and cleanliness.
- Identify and communicate developmental concerns to program leadership.
- Participate in team planning meetings, trainings, and YMCA events.
- Promote the YMCA mission through exceptional service to children and families.
- Support continuous quality improvement within the Early Learning Program.
