Presales Consultant (Odoo ERP)
Salary: RM 8,500 – RM 12,000 per month
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Presales Consultant based in PJ to support our Odoo ERP business in Malaysia. The role will primarily focus on manufacturing sector prospects, while also covering other key local industries including wholesale & distribution, retail and professional services. You will own end-to-end presales delivery including client discovery, requirement analysis, solution design, demo presentation and proposal preparation.
Key responsibilities
Conduct client discovery workshops to gather business requirements, perform fit-gap analysis and document business needs for prospective customers, mainly manufacturing and also wholesale/distribution, retail and service businesses.
Design and deliver tailored Odoo system demos that map to prospect industry specific workflows (production, BOM, inventory, procurement, sales, finance etc.).
Work closely with sales, functional consultants and technical teams to validate solution feasibility; ensure proposed scope is realistic and aligns with delivery capacity.
Research customer business pain points, map business processes to Odoo standard features, and recommend configuration, customisation or third-party add-ons to address gaps.
Build and maintain industry specific presales collateral: demo scripts, solution slides, case studies and proposal templates.
Manage expectations of client stakeholders throughout presales cycle; conduct proper hand over of requirements and scope to implementation teams once deals are closed.
Keep up-to-date with Odoo new features, local market trends and competitor offerings.
About you
Minimum 3 years working experience in ERP presales, functional consulting or ERP implementation. Hands on ERP implementation or software development background with genuine interest to transition to presales may apply.
Hands on experience with Odoo is highly preferred. Candidates without Odoo exposure must demonstrate strong learning aptitude and motivation to master Odoo quickly.
Solid understanding of manufacturing business processes is essential: familiar with production, BOM, material planning, inventory control, shop floor and procurement workflows. Exposure to wholesale & distribution, retail or service industries is a plus to support diversified local market.
Fluent in spoken & written English; Mandarin speaking & communication capability is required as this roles will need to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients. Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous for engaging local stakeholders.
Strong business analysis skills: able to interpret business pain points and translate them into practical ERP solutions.
Excellent client-facing and presentation skills; capable of independently running discovery sessions and product demos.
Good teamwork skills to collaborate with internal sales, consulting and technical resources (local and offshore).
Odoo official certification (preferred).
Familiarity with Malaysia local business compliance requirements (preferred).
Proven track record working with Malaysian manufacturing, trading or retail customers (preferred).
Hands on experience working with cloud-based SaaS / ERP solutions (preferred).
