Presales Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Position Overview

You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, working closely with sales teams, channel partners, and enterprise customers to design, demonstrate, and validate cybersecurity solutions across network, cloud, application, and data security domains.

The role combines solution architecture, technical consulting, partner enablement, and Proof of Concept (PoC) delivery to support successful customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Solution Consulting

• Act as the technical subject matter expert throughout the sales cycle, from discovery to solution design and deal closure.
• Gather customer requirements and translate business needs into scalable cybersecurity architectures.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and architecture discussions for customers and channel partners.
• Support account managers in qualifying opportunities and addressing technical objections.

Solution Architecture & PoC Delivery

• Design end-to-end cybersecurity solutions across network, cloud, application, and data security environments.
• Scope, build, and execute Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and Proofs of Value (PoVs) to validate technical requirements.
• Produce architecture diagrams, solution proposals, BOMs, sizing recommendations, and technical documentation.
• Support technical RFPs, RFIs, compliance questionnaires, and Statements of Work where required.

Partner & Customer Enablement

• Conduct technical enablement sessions, hands-on workshops, and product training for partner engineers and customer technical teams.
• Collaborate with vendor technical teams on product updates, roadmap discussions, and best practices.
• Maintain demo environments and stay current with emerging cybersecurity technologies and certifications.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Technical Sales, or Cybersecurity Engineering.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, VLANs, NAT, and high-availability architecture.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Network Security (Firewalls, WAF, DDoS, VPN)
• Cloud Security (CNAPP, CSPM, Cloud Workload Protection)
• Application Security (SAST, DAST, SCA, DevSecOps)
• Data Security (Encryption, Key Management, Database Security, DAM)
• API & Identity Security
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps is advantageous.

Key Competencies

• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities during customer workshops and PoCs.
• Self-driven, collaborative, and passionate about learning new cybersecurity technologies.
