Presales/Solution Architect
Summary
Presales/solution architect designs end-to-end technical solutions for clients, integrating software, infrastructure, and hardware like kiosks and biometric devices, and pitches proposals to win business.
Overview:
The role is primarily focused on pre-sales, tenders, and bids activities, requiring both broad
and deep technology knowledge and the ability to conceptualize end-to-end business and
technical solutions for customers. The candidate should possess experience in both
application and system architecture design, including exposure to hardware-integrated
environments such as kiosks, self-service terminals, and end devices (e.g. biometric devices,
cameras, RFID readers).
Responsibilities:
• Develop project technology strategy by understanding key client objectives;
diagnosing and mapping client requirements; articulating solution risks and barriers;
recommending project approaches; preparing time and cost estimates; planning full
project life cycle
• Design and propose end-to-end integrated solutions covering application, system,
infrastructure, and hardware components to meet customer business and operational
requirements
• Prepare and deliver business value solutions for customers, including proposal
writing, presentations, and proof-of-concept demonstrations where necessary
• Propose technical solutions and oversee the selection of technologies and estimation
of resources required to develop the proposed solutions
• Articulate alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist
• Highlight the positive impact of the proposed solutions and how they achieve
customer business goals
• Manage customer relationships by communicating architecture standards and
frameworks; answering questions; resolving concerns and issues
• Work closely with internal engineering, infrastructure, and hardware teams to ensure
solution feasibility and integration compatibility
• Actively participate in the business development lifecycle, including identifying
opportunities, generating proposals, and supporting sales efforts
• Increase organizational effectiveness by identifying opportunities to leverage
solutions across engagements
• Improve information usefulness by tracking emerging technologies and evaluating
their applicability to business goals and operational requirements
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
work experience
• At least 8 years of relevant working experience, including expertise in enterprise and
solution architecture consulting skills such as stakeholder engagement, architecture
reviews, and consensus building
• Strong experience in designing end-to-end solutions covering application, system,
infrastructure, and hardware-integrated environments
• Exposure to solutions involving kiosks, self-service terminals, biometric devices,
RFID readers, cameras, IoT, or other integrated end devices will be an added
advantage
• Professional experience with n-tier application architecture development
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to function at both detailed
and conceptual levels
• Experience with AWS Cloud implementation, network design, business analytics,
security, and biometrics will be an added advantage
• Hands-on experience in several of the following technologies/products:
o .NET Development Platform (Visual Studio, .NET Framework)
o C#, ASP.NET, Web Development
o Databases, SQL Server
o XML, SOAP, Web Services
o Exchange, AWS Products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
