Preschool Intern
WNCSource offers a paid internship position for Henderson County High School students, which involves assisting teachers in our preschool centers located in Hendersonville, NC.
This is a temporary position paying a stipend of $2,000 at the completion of 120 required hours.
What You Will Do (Intern Responsibilities)

Engage & Build Relationships: Engage in activities consistent with the philosophy and goals of the WNCSource Head Start program, building and maintaining positive, nurturing, and supportive relationships with children and families.

Support Learning Experiences: Support the implementation of learning experiences as part of the Head Start curriculum addressing physical health, social-emotional development, approaches to learning, language/communication, and cognitive development.

Complete Rotation Tasks: Engage in rotation-specific tasks as assigned by the department contact.

Maintain Safety: Help maintain a safe environment by recognizing, responding to, and reporting workplace safety hazards appropriately and on time.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

Student Status: Current high school junior or senior.

Coursework: Completion of EDU 119, Child Development, or TAAP class.

Academic Requirement: GPA of 2.7 or higher.

Preferred Experience: Experience teaching or working with preschool children is preferred.
