Preschool Lead Teacher - 8:45-11:45am - West Suburban

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of their supervisor and in accordance with Association policies, the Lead Teacher is responsible for coordinating daily activities in an early learning program and providing a safe and nurturing environment for early childhood-aged children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and actively participate in daily activities for children to engage students and monitor safety during all times of the day.
2. Serve as a role model to staff and participants.
3. Develop positive relationships will the staff, families, and children while providing motivational support and guidance, including parent conferences and handling complaints in a courteous, patient manner using problem solving techniques.
4. Maintain participant records and other documentation in accordance with department requirements.
5. Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
6. Follow the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County’s emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children, including but not limited to, communicating with supervisor regarding any emergency concerns or situations.
7. Uphold the core values of the YMCA when working with people within the YMCA facilities and community.
8. Follow all relevant regulations from the Department of Children and Families, Young Star, or other regulatory agencies.
9. Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.
10. Other duties as necessary and as assigned by supervisor.
