About Makino Resource Development (MRD)

Makino Resource Development Pte Ltd (MRD) is the strategic casting sourcing arm of the Makino Group. MRD plays a critical role in supporting the Group's global CNC machine tool manufacturing operations through the development of foundry partners, casting technologies, and advanced machine structure solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as President of MRD. The successful candidate will lead the company's castings sourcing, supplier development, and technology innovation initiatives while ensuring a robust, cost-effective, and high-quality supply base for the Makino Group.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities combined with good technical expertise in casting, foundry operations, metallurgy, and manufacturing technologies. He/she will lead the development of foundry capabilities across ASEAN, China, and India, drive innovation in machine tool structural materials including mineral casting, and serve as a key technical partner to the Makino Group in advancing manufacturing excellence and next-generation CNC machine tool technologies

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the overall business, strategy, and operations of MRD in support of the Makino Group's global manufacturing requirements.

· Develop and strengthen foundry partnerships across ASEAN, China, and India to support machine tool casting production and long-term supply chain resilience.

· Drive technical supplier development programs focusing on casting quality and process capability.

· Identify, qualify, and develop new foundry sources to support future business growth.

· Lead the evaluation, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and materials, including mineral casting and other innovative machine structure solutions.

· Collaborate closely with Makino engineering and manufacturing teams on new product development, cost optimization, and technology deployment.

· Establish and maintain high standards in quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and operational performance across the supplier network.

· Manage organizational performance, financial results, business risks, and strategic investment initiatives.

Requirements

· Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in foundry, casting, machine tool, precision engineering, or advanced manufacturing industries.

· Strong technical knowledge of casting technologies, foundry operations, metallurgy, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.

· Proven experience in supplier development, sourcing strategy, and manufacturing capability improvement.

· Experience with machine structures, mineral casting, advanced materials, or related manufacturing technologies will be highly advantageous.

· Strong strategic thinking, business leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
