Press Operator, 1st Shift

Pay: $22.00 to $28.60 per hour
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Schedule: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday

About the job
We are hiring a Press Operator to run our extrusion press and turn aluminum into parts that meet customer specifications. As a Press Operator, you will set up and run the press, check your work, and keep your area safe and organized. We cross-train in every department function, so you will keep building your skills.

What a Press Operator does

• Set up and run the extrusion press safely and efficiently
• Monitor process data and adjust billets to keep quality on target
• Take and inspect samples for surface finish and tolerances
• Read manufacturing orders and die drawings
• Perform general machine maintenance and keep your area organized using 5S

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
• Ability to read die drawings
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to use overhead cranes and lift trucks
• Comfortable in a loud, warm production setting, with team lifts or a crane for items over 40 lbs

Preferred (not required)

• Knowledge of the aluminum age cycle
• Understanding of the steps before and after extrusion
