Press Operator-2nd Shift
Summary
Operates and maintains printing presses, ensuring labels meet quality standards using AVT scanners and color theory while collaborating with pre-press and ink teams.
Job Summary:
The Press Operator is expected to be able to perform make ready and independently run a variety of work on their assigned press. The operator is expected to work closely with pre-press, the press assistant, and the ink technician to perform these duties in an efficient manner. They are to use cameras, the AVT (or other web scanning device), as well as other designated quality checks to ensure all produced labels are up to Hub Labels quality standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Duties/ Responsibilities:
· Performs all duties with safety and quality as the top priorities
· Adherence to Hub Labels safety rules and regulations, this includes wearing steel toed shoes and other PPE protection
· Uses AVT, spectrophotometers as well as follow all SOPs to ensure all product ran is up to Hub Labels quality standards
· Pushes buttons, turns handles, moves controls and levers to start printing machine or manually controls equipment operation
· Loads, positions and adjusts unprinted materials on holding fixture or in loading and feeding mechanisms of press
· Works with pre-press, press assistant, and ink tech to determine ink, stock and equipment needed for production
· Cleans and lubricates press and components using oil, solvents, brushes, rags and hoses
· Have an understanding of color theory (delta readings, LAB values, density and dot gain)
· Bring any quality issues to the attention of the lead, supervisor or manager
· Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or any other manager
· Participation in all HOP programs and events
