Press Operator

POSITION TITLE: PRESS OPERATOR

DEPARTMENT: Roll Out

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Manufacturing

HOURS/SCHEDULE: Monday through Thursday, 5:00am to 3:30pm

*overtime available during high product demand times

HOURLY/SALARY STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Press Operator is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of a press machine through the administration of equipment, preventative maintenance and quality control while minimizing down time and ensuring safety.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate a variety of presses (punch, forming and progressive dies)
• Operation of overhead hoist
• Maintain a well-organized and safe work environment in accordance with 6S.
• Organize production requirements
• Maintain accurate counts
• Understand and adhere to product acceptability and quality requirements
• Accurate and consistent record keeping

• Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use manufacturing ERP Systems, preferred IFS.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience metal working and/or fabrication

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift, carry, push and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required

Hussey Seating Company uses a market-based approach to compensation. The anticipated starting range for this position is $17.32 to $31.18 per hour. Individual compensation is determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, and the responsibilities of the position.
