The Preventative Maintenance Technician supports daily production operations by conducting scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on production equipment, machinery and facility systems. This role ensures efficient operation of equipment and machinery by following established preventative maintenance schedules, documenting findings, and escalating issues to reduce unplanned downtime.

Summary of Job Duties

  • Perform regular inspections, lubrication, filter changes, belt replacements, and other routine PM tasks across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance work orders accurately and timely.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or mechanical failures. Assist with corrective and emergency maintenance as directed.
  • Identify and report equipment abnormalities, wear patterns, and potential failures to the Lead.
  • Document all PM activities, findings, and measurements in the CMMS system.
  • Safely operate forklift and other industrial equipment.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors when required.
  • Communicate professionally with all other departments and report observed issues and concerns to management.

Work Environment

This job will be performed in production, warehouse, office, and outside buildings, requiring exposure to varying weather conditions and operating in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. This position may require work above or below ground level and in confined spaces. This position will routinely work on and around industrial equipment and systems including, blow molding machinery, CNC machinery, motors, motor control centers, emergency generators, water coolers, air compressors, grinders, hand tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above the head, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. Ability to use tools and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
