Pricing Estimating Analyst
Summary
The Pricing/Estimating Analyst develops process-specific cost estimates for manufacturing jobs at a container company, interpreting specs, diagrams, and samples to price material, labor, and machine requirements. Day to day they quote RFQs and bid packages, coordinate with Design and Production, and analyze logistics and distribution costs for pricing recommendations.
Job Summary:
The Pricing/Estimating Analyst is responsible for assisting in developing process-specific estimates capturing the costs involved in the production of products and subsequent strategic pricing of those products and services.
Essential Job Functions:
· Assist in the development of job estimates for both day-to-day customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and extensive comprehensive Bid Packages
o Interpret and translate item specific details from written specifications, schematic diagrams and existing product samples
o Develop electronic item master files which detail the most efficient and cost-effective material, labor and machine requirements for the manufacture of specific jobs
· Interact with other departments; specifically, Design and Production to determine specific capabilities and accurately reflect those capabilities in the estimates created
· Daily quoting of new and existing items within established guidelines and with the goal of maximizing profits within targeted product lines
· Capture data, conduct analysis and develop pricing parameter-based recommendations for logistics, transportation, and distribution activities
· Provide support, as needed, for other departmental functions
· Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
