Position Highlights

HealthPlus Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a full-time opportunity in Bakersfield, California.

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care to older adults through a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model, emphasizing preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and coordinated care.

This position offers a structured weekday schedule, approximately six patient visits daily, and no call responsibilities.

Practice Details

• Full-time schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Average volume: Approximately 6 patient visits daily

• No call

• Intus EMR

• Frail and elderly patient population

• Interdisciplinary healthcare environment

• Individualized patient assessments and care plans

• Collaborative approach to complex geriatric care

Clinical Opportunity

• Perform comprehensive medical histories and examinations

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses

• Develop individualized treatment and medication plans

• Provide preventive care and health screenings

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Monitor functional and cognitive changes

• Coordinate specialty referrals and services

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team

• Participate in care transitions and discharge planning

• Educate patients and families

• Maintain accurate documentation and support quality-improvement initiatives

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary: $250,000–$280,000

• 3 weeks of PTO

• 1 week of CME time

Qualifications

• MD or DO

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

• Active California medical license

• Active DEA license

• Must not be restricted from seeing Medi-Cal or Medicare patients

• Minimum one year of documented experience caring for frail or elderly patients

• Geriatrics experience preferred

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Strong communication, assessment, and chronic disease management skills

• Visa sponsorship may be considered but is unlikely and not guaranteed
