Primary Director
Job description
We are seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking primary director to join our school from August 2026. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic school leader with strong middle-leadership experience and a proven track record of driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.
This role is suited for a strategic thinker who is passionate about innovation and committed to shaping outstanding primary education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership across the primary school.
- Drive academic excellence, high-quality teaching, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead curriculum development, assessment, and instructional standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing pastoral environment.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders, teachers, and the wider school community.
- Champion innovation and digital transformation, including AI integration to enhance learning and operations.
- Strengthen student wellbeing, safeguarding practices, and positive behaviour systems.
Skills
Required qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree with full teaching qualifications (e.g., BEd, PGCE, QTS).
- Recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven middle-leadership experience in a reputable school.
- Demonstrated success in raising standards and leading teams.
- Strong understanding of primary curriculum frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills.
Desirable expertise
