Job description

We are seeking an inspirational and forward-thinking primary director to join our school from August 2026. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic school leader with strong middle-leadership experience and a proven track record of driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student wellbeing.

This role is suited for a strategic thinker who is passionate about innovation and committed to shaping outstanding primary education.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership across the primary school.
  • Drive academic excellence, high-quality teaching, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead curriculum development, assessment, and instructional standards.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing pastoral environment.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders, teachers, and the wider school community.
  • Champion innovation and digital transformation, including AI integration to enhance learning and operations.
  • Strengthen student wellbeing, safeguarding practices, and positive behaviour systems.

Skills

Required qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with full teaching qualifications (e.g., BEd, PGCE, QTS).
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven middle-leadership experience in a reputable school.
  • Demonstrated success in raising standards and leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of primary curriculum frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and people-management skills.

Desirable expertise

We strongly welcome candidates with additional experience in:
