Primer B Shift
Job Summary
The Primer role is responsible for preparing, priming, patching, cleaning, and painting of truck beds/surfaces. Primers must be able to utilize all types of painting materials such as primers, polyurethanes, and lacquer thinner finishes according to proper work instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring work is carried out per the work instructions
- Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches, cleans and paints truck beds, surfaces, utilizing all types of painting materials such as primers, polyurethanes, and lacquer thinner finishes.
- Tapes, sands, repairs and applies texturing thinner finishes.
- Responsible for understanding the final Quality check process after priming application is applied.
- Has clear understanding of how to operate, clean and maintain all priming equipment.
- Keeps records and submits reports of work.
- Perform work in a safe manner per the Company Health and Safety Policy and OSHA Requirements. Alert immediate Supervisor of any problems or concerns relating to safety.
- Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Education
- Minimum Required: Minimum grade 12 education is required.
- Preferred: Certificate or diploma in a relevant field.
- Experience
- Minimum Required: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a must.
- Knowledge and understanding of TS 16949.
- Mechanically inclined with attention to detail.
- Must complete Medical Evaluation including Respirator Fit Test.
- Experience using manual tools.
- Must be able to perform continuous manual Labor.
- Manually apply primer by hand brush application.
- Must possess and maintain a Driver’s License.
Working Conditions
The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
- Manufacturing environment with no managerial assignments or responsibilities.
- Continued exposure to weather elements, automotive vehicles, chemicals, robotics, industrial and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. with limited accommodations and flexible working positions as required.
- Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
