Our platform, XpertCoding, autonomously codes outpatient medical claims directly from clinical documentation using neural networks, machine learning, and natural language processing. We serve outpatient healthcare organizations in almost all 50 states, with deep expertise in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), womens health and OB/GYN practices, and behavioral health providers.

Position Summary

You will lead our AI team, including its current team lead, and report directly to the CEO. You will set technical direction, assign priorities, review model work, and own the quality of what the team delivers. You will also stay hands-on, building and deploying the gradient boosting and transformer models that read clinical documentation and assign medical codes. This role is not for a pure individual contributor, and it is not for a manager who has stopped writing code.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Set day-to-day technical direction for the AI team: assign priorities, review model work, and remove blockers.
• Build, train, and deploy gradient boosting and transformer models for production use.
• Mentor and develop team members, including onboarding and pairing new hires.
• Own the Python data pipelines that feed model training and production.
  Work with healthcare data, including EHR and EMR records, ICD and CPT codes, and clinical notes.
• Design experiments, evaluate models, and document results and decisions for the team.
• Work with clinicians and engineers to refine models for production use.
• Report team progress and model performance to the CEO.

Required Qualifications

• Direct management of two or more data scientists or machine learning engineers.
• Has built and deployed gradient boosting models in production.
• Has built and deployed transformer models in production.
• Strong Python.
• Strong command of model evaluation techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-label classification with class imbalance.
• Adapting language models to specialized vocabulary.

Location and Schedule

This role is on-site at the XIPL office in Noida.

Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST.

It is not remote and not hybrid.

Candidates outside Noida must relocate to Noida before their start date. No travel is required.

Compensation

Base salary of 80 to 1.20 lakh per year, commensurate with experience.

Incentive stock options, discussed at the offer stage.

Relocation assistance, reimbursed against receipts.
