A global leader in digital payments and financial technology is hiring a Principal AI Engineer for Cloud & Data Sovereignty to help build the next generation of AI-native assurance for one of the world's largest cross-border payment platforms.
Sitting within the System Assurance Office, this is a highly technical role responsible for embedding AI into cloud governance, data sovereignty, and cross-border regulatory assurance. The objective is to build intelligent, autonomous systems that continuously validate how data moves across jurisdictions, ensuring infrastructure remains secure, compliant, auditable, and regulator-ready by design.
You will design AI agents capable of monitoring cloud infrastructure, enforcing jurisdiction-specific controls, mapping cross-border data flows, and automatically generating regulator-grade evidence. The role combines cloud assurance, data governance, compliance automation, and AI engineering to eliminate operational blind spots across a globally distributed payments platform.
We're looking for candidates with 8-14+ years of experience across cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure, AI engineering, cybersecurity, or data governance. Hands-on experience building AI agents, LLM applications, or autonomous workflows for infrastructure, compliance, or security is essential
Candidates should be familiar with the broader cross-border data governance principles, with experience translating regulatory requirements into automated controls, policy-as-code, or compliance-by-design frameworks. Exposure to sovereign cloud architectures, data localisation, and cross-border transfer mechanisms will be highly advantageous.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and governance challenges at global scale. You'll play a key role in building AI-native assurance capabilities that provide complete visibility into cloud infrastructure and data flows, enabling trusted, resilient, and regulator-ready payment systems for the future of international financial infrastructure
