We’re looking for a Principal Backend Engineer with expert-level Rust skills and the technical leadership to match. You’ve built backend systems that sit at the core of cloud-native AI platforms, you set the direction for how distributed services are designed and operated, and you mentor the engineers who build alongside you. At this level, your work isn’t just about writing great code — it’s about defining what great looks like for an engineering organization that builds AI infrastructure used by enterprise teams globally.

What You’ll Do:

- Architect and deliver principal-level backend systems in Rust that underpin enterprise AI and ML platform workflows.
- Define backend engineering standards and Kubernetes-native microservices patterns across the organization.
- Own the technical design of end-to-end AI workflow infrastructure, from data ingestion to model serving.
- Lead cross-team backend initiatives and serve as the organizational authority on Rust platform development.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to set the long-term technical direction for backend platform systems.
- Mentor staff and senior backend engineers, elevating technical quality and capability across the organization.

What We Are Looking For:

- 10+ years of experience in IT roles.
- 5+ years of experience with Rust as the primary language for backend and platform engineering in production.
- Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes-native microservices and distributed backend architecture.
- Extensive background designing end-to-end AI or ML platform workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to define technical direction and lead backend engineering at an organizational level.
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence at a Principal level.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
