Principal BIM Technician - Mining
We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Principal BIM Technician to join the Global Capability Center UK Mining BIM team in Bengaluru to work alongside our UK and International mining projects.
The successful candidate will be working in a team environment to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from feasibility to planning/detailed design and construction.
Work as part of WSP’s GCC UK Local mining team.
Production of high-quality 3D BIM Models in Revit, ACC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD.
Perform variety of 3D BIM/CAD modelling assignments under minimal supervision.
Coordinate with BIM Lead/ Information Managers/ Design Engineers/ Design Managers / Project Managers for the information required to prepare BIM models and generate drawings as per specifications defined by our client.
Must have good 3D visualization and coordination capabilities.
Must possess a good ability to work independently/ moderate supervision from BIM Leads.
You will be expected to play a proactive part in the design process and be active on several projects at any given time.
Collaborate with other designers, engineers, architects and clients to convert information into layout designs, drawings and models using Autodesk, Bentley Software.
Interpret and extract relevant information from diverse sources, including hand sketches, BIM Execution Plans, and architectural drawings.
Experience within infrastructure especially large-scale Civils, Structural, Utility projects is a plus.
Should be interested and able to work in an international environment.
Complete other duties as assigned appropriate for the designated grade level.

You will read and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures for Health and Safety including the H&S Policy, H&S Manual, and Local Procedures Manual
You will take responsibility for your own personal development with the support of the line manager and follow an agreed development plan.
Key Competencies / Skills
Good command of written and verbal English.
Candidate should have a clear and demonstrable technical understanding of standards and norms pertaining to UK Civil & Structural Industry.
Problem solving and originality.
You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as BIM workflow, ISO 19650 etc.,
Successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated individual focused on delivery to the client and technical excellence. The role requires assisting BIM Lead/ Information Managers/ Design Engineers/ Design Managers / Project Managers in managing several projects and becoming involved in design at an early stage. The ability to plan your deliverables against UK engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary.
Cultural awareness, a conscientious approach, an open mindset, and strong communication skills are essential requirements for this role.
Ability to work under pressure and with moderate amount of supervision.

Strong attention to details and ability to make correct judgements.
Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft office software.
At least one key area such as Diploma/Engineering in Civil Engineering with 12-15 years relevant work experience in Autodesk BIM Software's.
Excellent working knowledge of Revit, ACC, Civil 3D, AutoCAD.
Good working knowledge of the relevant Civil & Structural Engineering discipline.
