Principal Business Analyst

Business Analyst would lead requirement discovery, backlog structuring, and business-to-technology translation for digital products transitioning from MVP to enterprise-scale operation. The role would involve understanding the product rationale, business vision, user journeys, operating model, release priorities, and cross-functional dependencies to ensure delivery remains aligned with strategic outcomes. The analyst would act as the bridge between business stakeholders, product leadership, architecture, and engineering teams—enabling clear scope, well-defined requirements, and execution readiness for stable and value-driven releases.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
• Convert business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting artefacts.
• Ensure traceability from business objectives to backlog items and delivery scope.
• Support requirement prioritization based on business value, technical feasibility, and release timelines.
Product Backlog & Release Readiness
• Partner with product, business, and engineering stakeholders to maintain a structured and prioritized backlog.
• Support release planning by identifying scope boundaries, dependencies, assumptions, and risks.
• Assist in defining MVP vs production-grade requirements and phased enhancement roadmaps.
• Ensure requirements are complete and ready before development and testing activities begin.
Stakeholder Management & Process Alignment
• Facilitate workshops, requirement reviews, and alignment sessions across business and technical teams.
• Act as a communication bridge between business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA, and operational teams.
• Support governance processes including release forums, CAB inputs, documentation, and decision support.
• Help establish common understanding of business rules, workflows, and product objectives.
Quality & Change Support
• Support UAT planning, requirement validation, and business acceptance readiness.
• Help assess change impacts, process implications, and downstream dependencies.
• Track findings, clarifications, and requirement updates during delivery cycles.
• Contribute to SOPs, operational documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Technical Skills
• Business Analysis | Advanced — requirement elicitation, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, process analysis
• Agile Delivery | Proficient — backlog refinement, sprint planning support, release scope alignment
• Documentation & Modelling | Proficient — workflow diagrams, functional specifications, impact analysis, stakeholder artefacts
• Tools | Proficient — Azure Boards / Jira, Confluence / SharePoint, Excel, Visio / Miro or equivalent
• Stakeholder Communication | Advanced — workshops, alignment sessions, business and technical translation
Required Experience
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in business analysis, product analysis, or functional consulting.
• Proven experience working with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams in Agile environments.
• Strong experience in requirements management for enterprise applications or digital products.
• Experience supporting release planning, scope clarification, dependency tracking, and business readiness.
• Ability to work across business and technical teams to drive alignment and execution quality.
• Experience with backlog structuring, requirement traceability, and change impact analysis.
Preferred (Not Required)
• Experience supporting enterprise digital products from MVP through production maturity.
• Exposure to cloud-based platforms, APIs, SaaS products, or platform modernization programs.
• Experience in engineering consultancy, environmental platforms, or infrastructure-related domains.
• Familiarity with release governance, CAB inputs, and operational transition processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of hands-on business analysis / product analysis experience.
