Principal Business Development Manager (f/m/x)
When you join exmox, you're stepping onto a global, highly competitive playing field, solving real problems in environments that push you beyond your comfort zone. We move fast, cut the noise, and focus on what actually matters, because in our industry, speed wins. We build high-performing consumer products in one of the most competitive industries there is: mobile gaming, leading one of its largest innovations, a rewarded user engagement and acquisition platform that helps publishers acquire and retain players through rewarding experiences.
As a Principal Business Development Manager (f/m/x), you’ll drive high-impact initiatives directly for the CRO and COO. Moving fluidly between strategic growth and operational excellence, you will open new advertiser relationships, revive paused accounts, and launch entirely new verticals from scratch. There is no fixed playbook here: you’ll write it as you go balancing cold outreach and commercial negotiations with RevOps projects designed to automate and scale our Revenue team.
At exmox, we're also embracing AI as part of how we work, not just what we build. We use AI tools to work smarter, cut down on repetitive tasks and spend our time where it actually moves the needle. If that mindset speaks to you, you'll fit right in.
If you value impact, data-led decisions, and ownership, let's talk.
In this role you will:
- Value-creation strategy: Develop a structured value creation plan to prioritize high impact growth levers for partners, while owning the full sales pipeline from prospecting and negotiating commercials to bringing campaigns live and scaling them.
- Reactivation & Account Optimization: Systematically diagnose why paused or underperforming accounts are missing their full potential. You’ll build and execute tailored commercial and technical recovery plans collaborating with internal teams and clients to close performance gaps and bring advertisers back to scale.
- New Vertical Launches: Take new verticals from idea to first revenue, mapping demand, understanding geo, payment and legal framework, and landing the first reference partners.
- RevOps & Enablement: Run "special" projects that make the commercial org faster, from automating manual workflows to codifying best practices and playbooks for the Account Management team.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with Product, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, Finance and Account Management to unblock deals, shape integrations and hand over accounts cleanly once they're live.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Build the business case yourself, model deal economics i.e. CPI, ROAS, revenue share, LTV and use performance data to structure partnerships that work for the partner and for exmox.
- Product Voice & Advocacy: Translate what you hear in the market into prioritized, revenue-driving requirements for the roadmap.
- Relevant Experience: 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or B2B sales, with a proven history of personally initiating and closing high-impact deals.
- "Swiss Army Knife" Profile: You're a builder and a generalist. You're as comfortable opening a new market as you are documenting a process, and you don't wait for someone to define the scope for you.
- Commercial Hunter Mentality: A "sales-driven" personality obsessed with moving the needle; you are constantly asking "how can we double these numbers?" to drive exponential growth.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Highly analytical, comfortable in spreadsheets and BI tools, able to turn raw performance data into a commercial argument and a clear next step.
- Process & Automation Instinct: You notice repetitive work and remove it. Hands-on experience with CRM, no-code automation or AI tooling to scale your own output and the team's is a strong plus.
- Communication Skills: Full professional fluency in English with the interpersonal "spine" to challenge partners' assumptions and stand your ground during tough negotiations.
- Ambitious & Goal-Oriented: A self-starter with high "eagerness" who doesn't just meet targets but proactively seeks ways to exceed them.
- Nice to have: Management consulting background (e.g., Bain, BCG, McKinsey) combined with business development for a tech scale up.
- Nice to have: Sales experience within adtech, gaming, rewarded user acquisition industry.
Speed is the feature. Speed beats rocket science. We move fast, test fast, and multiply our pace with AI, because action creates information and small wins compound. A fast failure is a lesson we learn from, a slow one is a problem we can't afford.
Focus on the essential. Done is better than perfect. We stay focused on what actually moves us forward and protect people's time from anything that doesn't. We're direct in how we communicate too, no rambling, no unnecessary detail.
See it. Own it. Solve it. The first to see it is best placed to fix it. We're not a place for comfort, we're a place for doers. “Not my job” isn't in our vocabulary, if you spot something, you help make sure it gets solved.
Respect others. Trust multiplies. Respect is non-negotiable. We disagree with ideas, never with people. Trust here is built the same way it is anywhere, through consistency, a thank you, a moment of listening, and owning your mistakes.
Perks that help you focus on what matters. Transport subsidy, learning budget, wellness and gym, workation, bi-weekly team lunches, and more. The perks are great, but the real reason people join and stay is the challenge, the ownership, and the drive to win together.
