Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native architecture. This role is critical in driving the design, development, and scalability of cloud-based platforms, with a focus on Kubernetes-driven environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in distributed system design, hands-on experience with modern DevOps and GitOps practices, and strong proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications
- Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Drive system design decisions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
- Architect and manage Kubernetes-based deployments across cloud environments
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Argo CD and Helm
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and secure cloud solutions
- Optimize application performance, cost efficiency, and operational reliability
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in cloud architecture and development
- Ensure adherence to DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code principles

Required Qualifications

- 10+ years of overall software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development
- Proven experience in designing and building distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (mandatory) in production environments
- Strong working knowledge of Helm and Argo CD (mandatory)
- Deep experience in at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Strong understanding of cloud-native patterns, scalability, and resilience design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
- Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
- Experience in high-scale enterprise environments
