Principal Consultant
Summary
Principal Consultant leads Java and API projects, guiding Agile teams through delivery while enforcing engineering best practices and cloud-native development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of Java and API development projects, ensuring successful execution within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
- Define project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage project scope, dependencies, issues, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track project progress and provide regular status updates to business stakeholders and senior management.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure projects comply with organizational governance, quality standards, and delivery methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technical Leads on application design and technical decisions.
- Review technical designs and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality initiatives.
- Support technical decision-making and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with business users, product owners, architects, QA teams, and development teams to gather and refine requirements.
- Promote automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Monitor project quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Proven experience managing enterprise Java application development projects.
- Strong experience leading API development and integration projects.
- Experience managing Agile/Scrum software delivery teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, API design and integration, Microservices architecture, cloud-native application development, CI/CD pipelines, Git, SQL/NoSQL databases, and modern software engineering best practices.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks, will be highly preferred.
