As a global leader in strategic advisory services, we are proud to have been named #1 Advisor by Deal Value in 2024 by Infranews. Our Investment and Transaction Advisory team plays a leading role in shaping transport infrastructure investment and delivery, combining technical expertise with commercial insight to support capital allocation, project development, and transaction execution.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant to join our growing advisory team, with a focus on technical and commercial due diligence and strategic advisory in transportation and infrastructure (T&I).

This is a senior role to work as part of the wider advisory team across end-to-end transaction cycles, including origination support, due diligence, investment decision-making, and post-deal strategic advisory - across a diverse portfolio of assets such as:

  • Rail and metro systems
  • Airports and aviation infrastructure
  • Ports, terminals, and logistics platforms
  • Urban mobility (bus systems, EV infrastructure, intermodal hubs)

This is a unique opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure asset classes, including transport technologies and energy infrastructure, while also providing exposure to a broader range of infrastructure sectors, including energy, transport and social infrastructure, across high-profile investment transactions and strategic advisory mandates.

  • Supporting the delivery of technical due diligence assignments for investors, lenders, and developers across transportation infrastructure assets
  • Overseeing assessments covering:
  • Asset condition, operations, and lifecycle performance
  • Demand forecasts, traffic/revenue assumptions, and capacity utilisation
  • Capex requirements (expansion, lifecycle, rehabilitation)
  • O&M strategies, contracts, and performance benchmarking
  • Providing strategic advisory across:
  • PPP/PFI concessions and contract structures
  • Investment cases, business plans, and valuation inputs
  • Risk identification, mitigation strategies, and sensitivity analysis
  • Providing technical and commercial input into bids and pursuits, shaping competitive proposals through robust asset and demand insights to strengthen proposals.
  • Supporting cross-sector infrastructure assignments, leveraging WSP’s broader capabilities in digital, energy interface, and sustainability.
  • Participating in international engagements, including site visits and stakeholder meetings where required.
