About the project
The client is a global platform that connects millions of people through communities and content, driving large-scale, data-driven consumer experiences. As a Principal Data Scientist, you’ll provide technical leadership in applying advanced analytics, experimentation, and machine learning to improve core consumer products and drive business growth. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, ML, and Data Science teams to shape strategy, define metrics, and turn complex data into high-impact product decisions.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Advanced SQL and strong Python skills
  • Extensive experience working with Big Data and large-scale data processing
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, causal inference, and experimental design
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or similar technologies; BigQuery is a plus
  • Experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Experience with Consumer Teach
  • Exceptional product sense and ability to connect data science with product and business strategy
  • Proven ability to lead complex data science initiatives and influence technical and product direction
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with senior cross-functional stakeholders
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Nice to Have
  • Experience in consumer technology or large-scale consumer products
  • Strong experience with causal inference and A/B testing
  • Experience developing ML models for prediction, anomaly detection, or pattern recognition
  • Experience building data platforms, self-service analytics, or scalable data assets

Responsibilities
  • Lead high-impact data science initiatives across consumer products, including Feeds, Search, Growth, and Content Ecosystem
  • Define metrics, analytical frameworks, and experimentation strategies to guide product decisions
  • Analyze large-scale datasets and uncover strategic insights that influence product direction
  • Develop and apply advanced ML models and statistical methods to solve complex product problems
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, ML, and Data Science teams to shape strategy and translate business problems into scalable data solutions
  • Establish best practices for data science methodologies, experimentation, and analytical quality
  • Mentor other data scientists and provide technical leadership across the organization
  • Communicate complex findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and drive data-informed decision-making
Availability expectations
  • Preferable overlap with PST working hours to support collaboration with the client and cross-functional teams
