Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Principal, Data Scientist. This position will be remote for the right candidate.
Summary:
Principal Data Scientists play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes and fostering a culture of innovation within our organization. They are responsible for leading advanced analytics initiatives, leveraging machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques to extract insights from complex data sets. Principal Data Scientists also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models, optimize processes, and uncover actional insights that drive business growth efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Principal Data Scientist I
  • Lead the development and execution of complex, organization-wide data science strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Design and implement sophisticated machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical models to solve high-priority problems.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define data science priorities and align analytics efforts with the organization's vision.
  • Provide expert consultation and thought leadership in the development and application of data science best practices.
  • Guide the development of new analytical capabilities, tools, and frameworks across the company.
  • Mentor and coach data science teams, ensuring continuous improvement in technical and professional growth.
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data science initiatives meet business needs.
  • Lead efforts to improve data infrastructure, accessibility, and quality across the organization.
  • Develop and communicate strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on data-driven insights.
  • Foster innovation and research to maintain a competitive edge through the use of emerging data science techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations across all data science initiatives.
Principal Data Scientist II
  • Same duties as Principal Data Scientist I.
  • Additional duties as Principal Data Scientist II:
    • Lead large, high-impact data science projects across multiple functions, delivering advanced analytics solutions to critical business problems.
    • Develop and deploy cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to address complex business challenges and opportunities.
    • Directly influence the organization’s strategy by providing actionable insights from data that drive business decisions.
    • Lead a team of data scientists, providing mentorship and direction to enhance the team’s technical expertise and performance.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term data science initiatives and prioritize high-value projects.
    • Promote a culture of innovation by exploring new methodologies and technologies to advance the company’s analytical capabilities.
    • Ensure the successful deployment, monitoring, and scaling of data science models and tools across the organization.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of policies to ensure the highest standards of data integrity and security.
    • Lead the development of advanced training programs to elevate the overall data science capabilities of the organization.
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment between data science projects and business goals.
    • Lead and publish research on emerging trends and technologies in data science, driving thought leadership across the industry.
Principal Data Scientist III
  • Same duties as Principal Data Scientist II.
  • Additional duties as Principal Data Scientist III:
    • Define and execute the strategic vision for the company’s data science initiatives, aligning them with overall organizational goals.
    • Lead the development of advanced machine learning models and predictive analytics strategies to solve business-critical problems.
    • Provide visionary leadership, guiding data science teams and key stakeholders through complex analytical projects.
    • Cultivate innovation by identifying and pursuing new research opportunities in data science and machine learning.
    • Act as a senior advisor, offering expert consultation and strategic direction to the executive leadership team.
    • Drive the integration of advanced data science methodologies into core business operations and decision-making processes.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in delivering impactful data-driven solutions that address both short-term and long-term business needs.
    • Mentor and guide data scientists and other technical leaders, ensuring the development of future thought leaders.
    • Champion the adoption of best practices in machine learning, data management, and analytics, establishing the company as an industry leader.
    • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and collaborations, showcasing the company's expertise and thought leadership.
    • Ensure all data science activities adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, with a focus on data privacy and security.
Education & Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or relevant field and 10+ years related experience or
  • Master’s degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics or relevant field and 8+ years related experience or
  • PhD in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics or relevant field and 6+ years related experience or
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience.
