What you'll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust DevOps practices to optimize our software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of applications.
  • Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure, focusing on performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operational processes and reduce manual intervention.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and impact on services.
  • Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide input on system design to enhance scalability and reliability.
  • Work closely with product management and development teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously evolve our DevOps practices.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or related role, with a strong understanding of software development and deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with hands-on experience in managing cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, for application deployment and orchestration.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, and a solid understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Excellent scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby to develop automation solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar to ensure system reliability.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-growing tech company.
  • Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or DevOps practices (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
