Principal Engineer – Data Engineering and Integration – Sydney

Delivery Centric is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead technical architecture and engineering for Collections modernisation within a Cards Modernisation program. The role focuses on data engineering, systems integration and cloud platforms, leveraging Snowflake, PySpark, AWS and .NET to support the transition from legacy Cards dependencies to HPS.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Collections within the Cards Modernisation program.
• Define integration patterns across HPS, Snowflake, Collections and PCC.
• Establish stable data contracts and schema evolution standards to reduce dependencies on source-system implementations.
• Provide technical leadership across Snowflake, PySpark, AWS/DHP, Python and .NET services.
• Define standards for data quality, lineage, observability and production resilience.
• Lead data migration, system coexistence and parallel-run strategies.
• Guide API, batch and event-driven integration architectures.
• Lead complex cross-platform production investigations and drive issue resolution.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers and influence engineering decisions across multiple teams.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration and technical leadership.
• Hands-on expertise in Snowflake and large-scale data engineering.
• Strong PySpark/Spark, Python and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Expertise in data contracts, schema evolution and data integration patterns.
• Experience designing APIs and modern .NET architectures.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, production engineering, observability and system resilience.
• Experience leading complex modernisation, migration or legacy system transition initiatives.
