Principal Engineer - Fire
- Managing Fire Engineering services on projects of all scales
- Preparing fee proposals and project management for iCRC scope of works and support on the UK bids.
- Developing fire strategies for stations and associated ancillary buildings from concept stage to construction - code-compliant solutions and Fire Engineering designs.
- Fire Risk Assessments for Compliance with relevant Fire Safety Codes
- To undertake Fire Risk Assessments or Site Audits when necessary
- Liaising with UK/ internal design teams to develop fire engineering designs
- Taking a proactive approach in developing the projects and working with the design team
- Peer reviewing technical work prepared by others
- Design specification of fire safety systems such as fire alarm and detection, fire suppression systems and facilities for firefighter intervention (fire hydrant designs)
- Organising Qualitative Design Reviews (QDRs) for major projects
- Travel to other WSP UK-based offices and visit clients and site offices when required on an occasional basis.

Qualifications:
- BEng/BSc/MEng in Electrical/Mechanical/ Fire Engineering
Working towards professional qualifications such as IEng or CEng status with CIBSE/IET/ IFE
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in public health services engineering. Have obtained or working towards obtaining Chartered Engineer status or equivalent and possess membership to an accredited engineering body Institute of Plumbing / Equivalent.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering successful public health engineering projects. This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification, and tender to the required standards.
- Strong proficiency in technical software, such as HEVACOMP and manufacturer's software and other engineering tools. Must have knowledge on software's like AutoCAD, MEP Revit, MicroStation & other drafting software's and sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to public health services.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Must be fluent in English with an exceptional understanding of technical terminology.
