Principal Engineer, Mechanical
Fleetway Inc. is hiring a Principal Engineer, Mechanical to support exciting, high-impact work from our offices across Canada. You’ll play a key role in major defense projects, helping ensure the Royal Canadian Navy remains ready to help, ready to lead, and ready to fight.

- Provide technical guidance and support to the Technical Team to ensure high-quality execution of assigned work and continuous development of team capabilities
- Lead quality assurance activities, technical training initiatives, and project delivery for complex engineering challenges
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and technical specifications as part of multidisciplinary project teams
- Act as a technical authority and subject matter expert, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including customers, systems engineering, production engineering, program management, and shipyards
- Serve as the primary escalation point and decision-maker for technical issues within the discipline
- Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and support of individual Personal Development Plans
- Develop, author, and maintain engineering processes and procedures to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality deliverables
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in mechanical systems design, analysis, and integration
- Proven experience within the shipbuilding or offshore industry, with strong familiarity in marine systems, standards, and environments
- Holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing, demonstrating recognized technical competence and professional accountability
