Principal Engineer - Mechanical

The candidate will be responsible for the production of Mechanical Engineering services designs, predominantly for Railway Stations and other Railway Buildings, working individually or as part of a team. Taking a senior role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP India Australian (AU) Team and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.

  • The applicant will have proven experience in the HVAC design of Railway Station Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.

  • Carry out detailed design to WSP in India, International Building Regulations and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring Construction Design and Management (CDM), QA and technical review, including complex calculations and co-ordination issues

  • Review and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign off

  • Must be technically good in heat load calculations, Duct & pipe sizing and pressure drop calculations

  • Must be technically good in Equipment selection such as Chillers, AHU, FCU, boiler, fans, pumps etc.

  • Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment’s etc.,

  • The applicants should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Must be fully conversant with technical softwares, such as IES, HAP, Hevacomp, Camel.

  • Must have knowledge on softwares like AutoCAD, MEP Revit, Microstation & other drafting softwares

  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential

  • Must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

  • Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technical

  • Raise the level of technical competence within the teams.

  • Implement delivery and quality measurement processes

  • Promote technical excellence in all our projects.

  • Undertake technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contribute to the design

  • Develop positive professional relationship with the WSP AU Team, communicating openly about project progress

  • Supervise, coordinate and support other project Engineers and CAD Technicians

  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies

  • Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met within the design

  • Participate in Project meetings, team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP.

  • Identify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processes

  • Manage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leader

  • Leading and guiding the team, winning work, proactive approach to find the solutions to the problems.

  • Taking care of H&S of self and team members.

  • Having Professional membership and professional qualification (CEng) from the International professional institutions.

  • Should have a degree in Mechanical
